HISTORY

The Map Library was established in the spring of 1972 to meet the needs of the Geography Department, University Community and the general public. The Map Library is a depository for the National Topographic System (NTS) maps at scales of 1:50,000 and 1:250,000. Our collection also includes aerial photos, atlases, travel information, books, gazetteers,  and other related cartographic materials. See the Map Library's Collections link for details.



LOCATION

The entrance to the Map Library is located on the fourth floor Centennial Hall Mezzanine (4CM40). Campus map.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS 

Call 786-9750 (9750 if calling within the University) to arrange for elevator access to the Map Library.



CIRCULATION POLICY

Most cartographic material may be signed out for a two week period. Cartographic material must be signed out from, and returned directly to the Map Library during regular hours of service.

Non-Circulating Material:
Globes
Historical Maps
Atlases (library only except by special permission)
Special Collections such as the East European Genealogical Society, and the Inuit Place Name Series maps.
